Sermon Series: WE Believe
(January 25, 2009 - March 29, 2009)
You may or may not be familiar with a worship song called “History Maker.” The lyrics include these words: “I want to be a history maker in this land.” Have you considered today that YOU and I are making history at the dawning of this new millennium? Corporate America, the Banking Institution, volatility in the global market and our recent historic inauguration are reminders of the history we are making! Our New Harvest Family believes that history is HIS-Story! God’s Church-and NHC is a part of God’s Church, is on a MISSION assignment. Our assignment is to proclaim the Gospel, the “Good News” to our generation. The only way we can accomplish our assignment is to KNOW what “We Believe” and Share what “We Believe” with family, friends, co-workers and neighbors who have not received this “Good News.”
Our theme at New Harvest Church this year is Contending for the Faith. At the heart of contending for the faith is contending for the Gospel! Why? Because “the Gospel of Jesus Christ is news, good news: the best and most important news any human being ever hears. The Gospel declares that the only way to know God in peace, love and joy is through the reconciling death of Jesus Christ the risen Lord.” And in a day and age of religious intolerance, pluralism, denominational divisiveness and biblical illiteracy-the time is now to boldly proclaim what WE Believe!
So wherever you are in your faith journey, this bud…uh series is for YOU. Whether this is an introduction to the historic Christian faith or a refresher course in the basics of our FAITH, you will come away with a fresh understanding and appreciation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Test the waters, explore, question and learn in community. And most of all-enjoy the journey. Following Jesus is an adventure!!
